Arctic StarSweepers
7 Traits
On the continents of Gelidis and Canes, Arctic Starsweepers know far less bounty than their tropical cousins and have faced even more hardship from StarShooter raids. Despite this, these hardy northerners remain welcoming and hospitable, even mother-henning to a point of smothering. Their culture is militaristic and tough, borne out of the harsh challenges of the tundra. Their focus, however, is on family and defending that family, prioritizing the shield over the sword. Surviving harsh winters has given arctic sweepers no shortage of fluff. Thick downy poofs of feathers keep them warm while stiff, compact, oiled feathers keep them dry. Many arctic sweepers will have "freckles" or speckled feathers framing the face along their cheekbones, and are usually more muted in color. Females will have shorter, fatter penguin tails to retain body heat and a soft curl to their horns like antelope or mountain goats. Though not particularly more adept magically, they've developed low light vision and sharp pronounced fangs for meat eating. Female arctic sweepers will often be seen with plants such as Holly, Poinsettias, Branches of Pine or other local flora for their headpieces.
